EXPERIENCE

Network Design Engineer II, xFlow Research Inc., Islamabad, PK
(February 2021 – Present)

– IMS 3.0:

A solution developed in GoLang by xFlow Research for a client. This solution is responsible for dropping the traffic of Whitelist Users and applying rules on Signaling and Media Traffic. I lead the project for its new version, IMS 3.0. Main task of my team is to add redundancy, develop few new features, improve the performance of the solution, solve any existing bug and provide support for the solution.

– Airship:
Open source contribution in Airship project – A project for automation of cloud deployment. Primarily aimed at running OpenStack on Kubernetes. Worked as a Team Lead and my responsibility was to keep track of overall project by attending and participating in community meetings of Airship, Metal3 and Ironic. Worked as Developer for Open Source Community Project for development of RAID and BIOS configuration functionality for Dell servers, presenting it in Airship Community and getting it merged in master branch of Airship.

(September 2019 – May 2020)

– Consumer Cloud:

Worked on RnD for the deployment of Consumer Cloud according to feature-set required by the client. Container Infrastructure as a Service was one of the features required. Evaluated the deployment and deployment of Container Infrastructure as a Service on the top of OpenStack using the component “Magnum” of OpenStack.

(July 2016 – September 2018)

– RCA Tool:

Developed a Root Cause Analysis Tool for OpenContrail. It gets all information from database of OpenContrail and graphs the information. Data flows in OpenContrail is monitored and Alert is sent to the team is there is any packet loss. It also monitors all the processes and computes nodes of OpenContrail and real-time analysis is done using this tool. The technology used for this is Python and JAVA.

– Docker Image:

Docker image was created in order to formalize and analysing the logs of OpenContrail. Logs were first produced in Kafka then logstash connects with Kafka and logs of different formats are analyzed using grok filter. These filtered logs are then forwarded to ElasticSearch.

– Log Analysis:

Logs of OpenContrail are analyzed using Logstash, influxDB, Kibana and Elastic Search. These tools are used for the correct analysis of logs and getting the required information about the processes and services of OpenContrail.

– Service Chain Monitoring:

Testing use cases for understanding the troubleshooting of service chaining in OpenContrail. Methods of troubleshooting were discovered using APIs, GUI, and database.

– BGP Monitoring:

Testing use cases for understanding the troubleshooting of BGPaaS in OpenContrail. Methods of troubleshooting were discovered using APIs, GUI, and database.

– Website Development:

Developed a website for the company and this website is deployed and is active.

– Launchpad:

Contributed to OpenStack development Community as an openStack Developer by resolving few bugs on Launchpad.

– Developed an android game named “Word Puzzle” and published it in Play Store. This game has different levels and also the highest score managing ability.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

THESIS – EXPLORING THE FACTORS INFLUENCING THE PERFORMANCE OF STARTUPS IN BUSINESS INCUBATORS OF PAKISTAN
Four factors, learning environment, access to monitors and investors, visibility in the marketplace and incubation period were explored in a research project in Executive MBA. Results from analysis of data collected via interviews and questionnaires verified the positive influence of these factors on the performance of startups.

Delta Robot Controlled by an Android Application
The Final Year Project is three Degrees of Freedom Delta Robot for welding controlled by an android application through Bluetooth. The Android Application has 3 Seek Bars which take in the coordinates as input and sends them over to the robot through a Bluetooth module which then operates the servo motors and moves the arms of the robot.

Hotel Management Website
Software Engineering course, I build a complete hotel management website for Customer as well as for staff. This website was used by the customer for ordering and booking rooms. The staff uses this website for bill generation and keeping records of all customers.

RemindMe Android Application
Android Application which shows a Google map and allows you to set a reminder marker at any location that you want. Then it tracks your location through a background service so that whenever you are near that location you will get a notification.

Rummy Card Game
Developed a Rummy Card game using JAVA for the course Object-Oriented and Design Analysis. It’s a two-player game; one player is the user and another player is the Computer. Human plays games against the Computer.
